The San Antonio Kappa Alpha Psi Education Foundation is excited to host the inaugural Guide Right & Kappa League No-Tap Tournament.

This event aims to bring together the community for a day of fun, fellowship, and friendly competition while raising funds to support the Guide Right Youth Development Program of Kappa Alpha Psi.

 

This annual fundraising event is used to invest in the future our youth, empowering them through mentorship and educational opportunities and providing scholarships to our youth and community.

1. This is a “No-Tap” tournament where a 9-count on the first ball counts as a strike. This does not apply to the second ball.
2. There is no handicap. All scores are based on the actual number of pins knocked down.
3. Each bowler will bowl three games.
4. The entry fee is $100 per team or $25 per person; however, all bowlers will compete as team members.
     a) Entry fee includes the cost of bowling ($10 for three games), and $15 is donated to the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., San          Antonio Alumni Chapter, Guide Right program
5. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams, and to the highest total series for men, women, boys, and girls.

7. Registration and payments can be made through the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Foundation.

 

                           

Chris Pittard Full Bowling Bio

The creator of the First Annual Guide Right and Kappa League No-Tap Event is Brother Chris Pittard. Brother Chris Pittard, recently inducted into the Greater San Antonio USBC Hall of Fame, has dedicated his life to advancing bowling and promoting diversity and inclusion in the sport. Inspired by his parents’ role in integrating bowling in the 1960s, he has served as TNBA league president for over a decade, sits on the USBC Youth Advisory Group, and is 2nd Vice-President of the GSAUSBC Board of Directors. He has been instrumental in bringing bowling programs to San Antonio schools, coaching youth and adults, and writing extensively to highlight African-American bowlers. His vision also inspired the upcoming Kappa No-Tap Tournament, designed to support youth development and expand access to the sport. Through leadership, mentorship, and service, Brother Pittard continues to make a lasting impact on the bowling community.
